The Client

MiAuto, a Uruguayan company part of Santander Consumer, a Santander Group subsidiary (the world's largest auto financier), aims to streamline vehicle financing.

Their platform provides loans for new and used cars with dealership signatures, offering customers and merchants a unique, innovative, and world-class auto financing experience.

In 2023, MiAuto successfully tested its concept, reaching over 210 sales points in Uruguay.

The Challenge

With the platform's success and market receptivity, they needed a website that:

  • Scaled with their growth: Adapting to their ambitious plans.
  • Enhanced user experience: Offering a simple and engaging process.
  • Optimized conversions: Turning more visitors into customers.

Seeking a technology partner, they found Switch to develop the new website and potential platform initiatives.

Switch formed a multidisciplinary team to collaborate with MiAuto on various projects, becoming their development execution unit.

The Solution

MiAuto's team focused on business requirements, while Switch handled technological needs to efficiently and effectively achieve their goals.

The project centered on:

  • Building a new website for improved aesthetics and functionality.
  • Designing new workflows to make the processes more efficient, effective, and user-friendly.
  • Developing a self-service portal.
  • Integrating MiSeguro with the MiAuto website to boost cross-selling opportunities and streamline customer journey.

The team defined the project scope through prototype-based UX Research centered on user needs. UI/UX design experts and a Discovery phase were included to thoroughly understand the market and users.

Through an ideation workshop with MiAuto and MiSeguro stakeholders, we used design thinking principles to place the user at the strategy's core and explore effective ways to meet their needs.

The team worked extensively on the website's front end, utilizing core banking and insurance third-party data integrated through APIs. As the back office, a new portal for managing the web content (banners and documents)  was built.

The Results

The solution had excellent acceptance among vehicle buyers, sellers, partners, and credit-taking customers.

Final users defined the new portal as "Reflects Santander essence," "Well-explained, super easy," and "A testament that less is more."
